It really depends on the person, and when in their lives you're talking. One of my dad's friends is married to a man ten years older than she is, and while it was a huge deal when they met and she was 18, now, when she's in her forties, it's no big deal.
My grandparents were thirteen years apart.
My boyfriend is three years older than I am. It depends on the ages and maturity levels. I'm mature, and my boyfriend, well, isn't, so it works for now.

At this point in my life, I wouldn't want someone much older than I am, namely if it were for something serious, but three years at this point in my life isn't an issue.

it would depend on their personality. i wouldn't date someone who is, say, 15-20 years older than me; it would take a lot for me to do that.
