I was with your actual pronunciation right up until the last syllable...and then my brain refused to process the letter "k" with a schwa attached to it (that's the neutral vowel you get when you do a very sharp cutoff on a consonant...my choir teacher calls it a release sometimes. It looks like and upside down "e"). I keep wanting to sat pah-L-nik...Although before I though it was just PAL-ink.

My brain always fills it in as "Plank" like the English word for what Captain Hook makes people walk off of into the ocean. -_-; It's because my mind likes to correct the letters in a word that it sees as "misspelled".
