Por todos mis antepasados. No puedo creer que en una misma galerķa haya encontrado dibujos de mis dos libros favoritos....sobretodo esta escena, creo que supera incluso a la del fallecimiento de Rudy, captaste la expresion de cada personaje....
I know, it really is painful! I cried so hard when I reached that part of the book..
My grandmother was German and had a lot of similar stories to tell. She wrote everything down in her diary. How they had to run to the safe-houses every single night. How they hoped and prayed every morning that their house would still be there - that their family members would still be alive. One of my uncles attended the horrible winter in Stalingrad. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. The horrors we read about in books like "the book thief" where (are) so very real.
Thank you for sharing the pictures, even though it conjures a lump in my throat every time I see them. But I think it's so very important to remember what happened back then. We owe them that much.
I'm sorry for rambling. Guess it just triggers something... Nevermind. Just ignore me... Thanks again.
