For some reason, it took me the entire book to realize who the narrator was...

"I only wear the black hooded cloak when it's cold out, and I don't have those skull-like facial features everyone likes to pin on me from a distance!"
    -Death, The Book Thief.

I figure that isn't a spoiler. But I actually did imagine him to look like that at first. xD

I always viewed Death as female, but this is a pretty cool interpretation!

wow. such a great interpretation...he looks so serene. He looks how he sounds in the book...not a force of evil, but a being with stories to tell.

I think you've truly captured who death was in the book. This is ethereal and magnificent yet tinged with sadness. You've done an amazing job.

what an interesting look at death. i like that you gave him a sort of smile, because in the book he was never evil.

I love your interpretation of him. Sadly The Book Thief is one of my "on-off books" - I start reading it and I do like it, but then I just stop reading for no reason. I hope I'll finish it one day.

I just recently finished rereading this book. I really hope you like it!!!! It's a really great book. Although, in your portrait of Liesel, she was blond. I think Liesel had brown hair.......

Yes. I've been trying to find other good books that involve WWII. I find them really intriguing. As from The Book Thief, I really loved The Boy in the Striped pajamas. I like that one can see such awful events in the eyes of innocent children.
