Wow! This is Amazing. a quick question, i'm actually working on some male faces, but i can't seem to draw faces from anything other than side and front view. i'm wondering how did you learn to draw faces at what seems to be any possible angle, did you practice on your own or was there any artists that you viewed their styles?
hi! thanks!! i dont think i have the requirements they are needed to teach in a tutorial, and i have so little time there are some head positions tutorial here in dA already, plus i dont have a technique, i just learned for myself and make many mistakes all the time, i cant "teach" if havent mastered it myself i did practice on my own, wanted to develop my own style, i still want that, so i try not to look at other peoples art as "teacher" but i do like to see good art, obviously
Realmente me encanta .
I can't draw males whatsoever. I can't draw the muscles, the clothes, the facial features, the whole body basically. For most people I know, it is easier for them to draw their own gender, not the opposite. Weird. I also love how you capture and portray all the racial and ethnic diversity, like making Chinese people look like Chinese people, Africans look like Africans, etc. I can't. I fail at it. ALL MY PEOPLE LOOK THE SAME!! I can't figure out how to make them look different. Like the nose is always the same. No matter how big or small I make it I can't seem to make them look any different. It doesn't help that I am no good at drawing noses. I know I have probably already asked parts of this question, but got any tips for drawing people, especially males and not making everybody look like clones and ways to improve my drawings in general? Jealous so much.
thanks! i used to draw people all the same, especially men , but since i noticed i had that problem i satrted to look what makes a persons face diferent and guess what? its everything, not just making a bigger nose, but the shape of it, the shape of the face, how long is the bottom and the upper lip, how much of the face is occupied by these features, shape of the eyes, well the shape of everything!!!!! and that you can learn by observation really proportion is very important, and remember a featuer that you woldnt normally consider beautiful ( it depends on your standards really and it very subjective) can make a beautiful face with all its componenets, for example a crocked and angled nose can be very manly and beautifl, dont be afraid of marked features, thay are fun to draw. men dont look like anime dudes.
Thanks! I am very grateful towards you. I drew a man's (!)face and he has a kind of more Chinese look, especially his eyes and face shape. I am going to a festival on August 1st and will look at all the different people and examine their features, trying not to look like a stare-er. I started all the way at the beginning of your work from around 2008 and am going forwards and I am seeing how much you improved. I hope to improve like that. You went from all Caucasian-looking people who all looked the same to your beautiful people that you draw now. Men don't look like anime dudes. Check. Off topic a little, but about beauty and such, when I first started watching Sherlock I was like,"Sherlock is kind of odd looking. Not the most handsome man in the world.". But the more you look at him the more beautiful he gets. Weird how stuff grows on you like that. Thanks, though! Your tips are extremely helpful.
I guess I have been Cumberbatched. He does have a very interesting face and he will be fun to draw someday. I have heard lots of people say they like his non-dark hair but I personally prefer the Sherlock hair.
Wow! Love the diversity in this! I'm only good at drawing certain kinds of man faces--similar to the kind of face the guy on the bottom left has, and sometimes like the guy on the bottom right. xD I need to work on that. And how on earth can you draw man lips that look so manly??
Exactly how I draw right now!! I'm better at drawing girls even tho they have a bunch of hair, complicated clothes, jewelry, makeup, etc. and guys are difficult because I draw triangular-ish heads, muscles that I still have to figure out how to draw depending if the character needs it, and clothes that makes them look like boxes .__.
