how most of my digital art starts this is a sketch, but i dont thnk ill finish, so ill jsu post it the way it is, some people like to see WIP's.

Inspired by a song called Hoy Mi Deber (today, mi duty was) wich is a beautiful song by Silvio Rodriguez (79'), a men most of you wont know (well South and Central America people will), but whose songs i just love.

Ill try to translate a bit, but this man is too epic to be properly translated by me.

Hoy mi deber era (today my duty was)
cantarle a la patria (to sing to the country)
alzar la bandera (to rise the flag)
sumarme a la plaza. (to join the "plaza" *were protests/manifestations are commonly held)


Hoy era un momento (today was a moment,)
más bien optimista (more likely, optimist)
un renacimiento (a renaisance/rebirth)
un sol de conquista. (a conqueror sun)

Pero tú me faltas (but im lacking "you")
hace tantos días (for so many days)
que quiero y no puedo (that i want, but i cant)
tener alegrías. (have joy)

Pienso en tu cabello (i think of your hair)
que estalla en mi almohada ( that explodes on my pillow)
y estoy que no puedo (and im amost unable)
dar otra batalla. ( to give another battle)

Hoy yo que tenía ( today, that i had to)
que cantar a coro (sing in chorus)
me escondo del día (i hide myself from day)
susurro esto solo. ( i wisper this, alone)

Qué hago tan lejos ( what am i doing this far?)
dándole motivos (giving motives)
a esta jugarreta (to this cruel senses game?)
cruel de los sentidos.

Tu boca pequeña (your small mouth)
dentro de mi beso (inside my kiss)
conquista se adueña (it conquers, it takes, it makes no recesses)
no toca receso.

Tu cuerpo y mi cuerpo (your body and my body)
cantando sudores (singing swets)
sonidos posesos (possesed sounds)
febriles temblores. (feverish trembles)

Hoy mi deber era (today my duty was)
cantarle a la patria ( to sing to the country)
alzar la bandera ( to rise the flag)
sumarme a la plaza. ( to join the plaza)

Y creo que acaso ( but i think, in this case)
al fin lo he logrado (ive finaly made it)
soñando tu abrazo (dreaming your hug)
volando a tu lado. (flying by your side)


as you can guess the man is very politically active, hehe this song its not necesarily my favourite, picking a favourite by Silvio is an impossible task.

Im constantly getting inspired by his songs, thats why i like him that much. Amazing lyirics. Amazing. as people on tumblr would say, ALL THE FEELS.
hes also very skilled with the guitar.

wow, this is incredible! It reminds my of the exact emotions I feel when I think of an old realationship with someone I still like. This is incredibly moving, I wish you would finish it :)

The composition is good and the way the hair connects around with the rest of the image is a nice touch. :)
